About this model
The Chevrolet Malibu is a mid-size car manufactured and marketed by Chevrolet from 1964 to 1983 and from 1997 to 2025. The Malibu began as a trim-level of the Chevrolet Chevelle before becoming its own model line in 1978. Originally a rear-wheel-drive intermediate, General Motors revived the Malibu nameplate as a front-wheel-drive car in 1997.

Where it stands out against its peers
- Vehicle speed control: more complaints than 99% of 2016 cars — 19% of its 810 complaints, where an ordinary 2016 car has 5%.
- Electronic stability control (esc): more complaints than 98% of 2016 cars — 9% of its 810 complaints, where an ordinary 2016 car has 2%.
Same model year only, at least 30 peer cars, zeros included. Every car has a worst part; this shows which, and how far from ordinary it is. A high share means more to check, not a verdict.
