What fails its inspection
Great Britain's MOT record for the 2012 5.9 petrol. 10 of 92 tests failed, 11%.
Better than 92% of 2012 cars. The typical one fails 21%, across 925 models with enough tests behind them to say.
| Where | Share of failures | Failed tests |
|---|---|---|
| Tyres and wheels | 50% | 5 |
| Lights and electrics | 40% | 4 |
| Exhaust and emissions | 20% | 2 |
| Brakes | 10% | 1 |
The defects inspectors cite
- A direction indicator lamp missing, inoperative or in the case of a multiple light source more than 1/2 not functioning
- A headlamp or light source missing, inoperative or more than ½ not functioning in the case of LED
- A tyre seriously damaged
- Engine MIL illuminated indicating a malfunction
- A tyre cords visible or damaged
- A tyre pressure monitoring system malfunctioning or obviously inoperative
Where it stands out against its peers
- Tyres and wheels: failed more often than 95% of 2012 cars — 50% of its 10 failed tests, where an ordinary 2012 car has 26%.
Same model year only, at least 30 peer cars, zeros included. Every car has a worst part; this shows which, and how far from ordinary it is. A high share means more to check, not a verdict.
NHTSA's investigations are American; no European regulator publishes an equivalent record, so this section has nothing to draw on for a European car. There is no European equivalent of the service-bulletin register either.

Recalls
Filed by the manufacturer with a regulator. A recall is repaired free of charge, whoever owns the car now.
A12/0105/18
The battery supply cable may be damaged by movement of right side front seat. This could create a short circuit causing the supply cable to overheat.

The pedal arm on the throttle pedal can break, if this happens the driver will be unable to maintain or increase speed and the vehicle will return to idle. This may increase the risk of a vehicle crash.
